Ten Year Stretch; The Launch

Last week I was in Edinburgh to celebrate the launch of this book of short stories.

I had travelled from.....

to

Anne Cleeve was there.

Anne Cleeve not Anne Of Cleeves!

yes, that one.

Ian Rankin was there on his own turf.

Michael Stanley was there....
Here posing in  his youth

but nowadays he looks more like this

And this.....

There's more than a fair few dangerous women in this book of short stories...

This one...

And this one.....

And this one too for also.

I was listening to how Ian Rankin spent his time as a student.
Weirdly. I spent my time as a student studying.

Anne's short story is set in Africa, a locked tent mystery.
Is Africa the new Scandinavia?

Book signing- there was a big queue winding down the stairs.

Testament to the fact that Princes St has ever present road works...

Signing with a backdrop of Edinburgh Castle.

Ian giving me a hand with some difficult spelling.

Fabulous collection of short stories  by the best crime writers around. And me. No Exit did a great  in pulling it together, Adrian Muller and Martin Edwards were the (evil) masterminds of the project, all in aid of the Royal National Institute for the Blind.

It's all rather fab.

We are hoping to hold an event in Glasgow later in the year. And I know for a fact, ours will have more drink of an alcoholic nature.

And of course,  a launch at Bristol Crimefest which kicks off next week!

Cheers

My brother, you are not soliciting suggestions, BUT-- The more I could ask for is that I could be there for the gathering of the tribe.
