I made the unforgivable error

I made the unforgivable error of responding to a President Trump email that asked whether I supported him or President Biden. The error was responding, not the response. Now, despite repeated attempts to unsubscribe, I find myself the recipient of pleading invitations to support the funds that will enable Trump to be re-elected in 2024 – if the country still exists then, which is doubtful if President Biden continues to lead the country.

 

Unfortunately other people have also capitalised on my stupidity. Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Donald Jr, and diverse PACs and other money-seekers have flooded my Inbox with emails. I thought I should share some of them with you so you can prepare yourselves for the inevitable calamity that the once-great country is about to slide into should the MAGA king not be re-elected (or his 2020 election victory not be accepted).

I know it may be difficult to go through what follows, but I have some concluding remarks at the end.

Some concluding thoughts:

Trump isn't running in the elections this year. All of this is just priming the pump for 2024.

As has been shown many times before, it is easy to laugh at the antics of a buffoon. And I'm confident that if the presidential election were held this year Trump would lose.

What is truly frightening, however, is what may happen if Republicans win at the upcoming mid-terms.Not only would all the investigations likely be scrapped, but more legislation is likely to be introduced to undermine free and fair elections. There is already a movement that is asking the (very conservative) Supreme Court to interpret the constitution in such a way to allow state legislatures to decide which electors would represent the state at the Electoral College. Not the voters, but the legislators. That means if a state with a Republican legislature didn't like who was going to the Electoral College, it could replace them.

What is also frightening is the simmering violence among Trump supporters. I am normally a very optimistic person, but I'm for the first time very worried about the future of this country. January 6, 2021 may look mild compared to what may happen.
