Stan and Michael and their entourage set off last week for a tour of the National Parks of Madagascar to celebrate Michael's 70th birthday. In the wee hours of this morning, Stan wrote: "I am in the middle of nowhere in Madagascar sans wifi so blog can't be uploaded. Could you post an apology for me."
I offer the photo above by way of Stan's said apology.
The only thing I am personally sorry for is that I am missing out on their adventure.
And we can comfort ourselves that Michael will be having a great birthday, and that we shall enjoy hearing about it over the next few weeks!!
ReplyDeleteAnd that they're peacefully at bliss far away from Cable News.
ReplyDeleteYes, Caro, I think we will get reports from both their perspectives once they emerge from the hinterlands.
ReplyDeleteAnd, Bro. Anyone who is watching Cable News should know better. I stopped watching the news on TV during the Vietnam War. I am still well informed, but my blood pressure now is the same as it was in 1970. For good health--mental and physical--I highly recommend my approach to the tube: use it only for movies.
Wait, what? Michael's SEVENTY??? I thought there were laws in South Africa about exporting old white stuff. No, wait, maybe that was just ivory. In that case, have a great time, bring back lots of pics and stories, and break a leg. No, wait, that's just in the theater. Better not...
ReplyDeleteWe made it out with tales to tell! Michael's leg is intact. Have to admit I missed my morning What Idiotic Thing Is Next fix. Until Thursday.
ReplyDeleteCannot wait to have the details. I have coined only two aphorisms in my life. One may apply here: "No adventure worthy of the name is fun while you're going through it."
DeleteThat describes it wonderfully, Annamaria! Another aphorism is the one of the curate's egg - good in parts!
DeleteSo glad you got back in one piece, Michael. I am sure this birthday was unforgettable! We all await your and Stan's recounting of the details. And PICTURES!!
