Annamaria on Monday
|
When Stan wrote a couple of weeks ago about the noon cannon on Signal Hill, I told him I expected a one-gun salute when I arrived. Here is my photographic proof, taken from a boat during our harbor cruise, that he kept his promise. |
|
My peerless hosts silhouetted against the equally peerless view of Table Mountain from the harbor. |
|
The view from Stan and Mette's terrace. |
|
If you don't find the terrace view impressive enough, here is the view from their driveway. |

The entrance to the inner harbour |

Nobel Square, dedicated to South Africa's four Nobel Peace Prize Winners. The work of these four courageous men's has more to teach the world about waging peace than any other four people in history. If only today's leaders could absorb their depth of wisdom and humanity. |

With apologies of Albert Luthuli, but the gull would not fly away. Talk about a determined photo bomber! |

Sights around the Waterfront
A scenic drive along Victoria Road:
There oughta be a law! (That everyone has as much fun as you do...)
ReplyDeleteEvKa, I am of the "Get it while you can," school of time management. As you probably are well aware, I qualify as the Jehova's witness for this philosophy. 😊
DeleteI will vote for that law! Much love ❤️ to you and your friends! Nicoletta
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nico. It is glorious here. You will see a ton more pictures when I get back to Florence. ❤️
DeleteYou do live an adventurous life. Suppose this is "research" for yoir next mystery novel?
ReplyDeleteGee, Gerald, what makes you put that word in quotes? Of course that's why I came. My characters go on safari. So I have to do it too. :))
Delete"Get it while you can."
ReplyDeleteWho am I to disagree with my sis?
Our love to you and your hosts on what has to be a fabulous visit :)
More reports to come, my brother. Hugs back to both of you.
DeleteLooks like you're having a wonderful time, Annamaria. Can't wait to see more of those photos. What's the strange polka-dot bird with the blue head? (besides tasty ...)
ReplyDeleteZoe, that's a guinea fowl. I asked Stan if people eat them, and he said, "Sure." More photos next week as we head for the bush. 😊 😊
DeleteWhen we were short listed for the Debut Dagger many years ago, we thought the fates were aligned when they served guinea fowl as the main course. An African main course - an African winner.
DeleteOf course we didn't. Sigh. But the main course was delectable.
Stan, at least the CWA folk had better taste in food than they did in books. Perhaps I might get a chance to taste guinea fowl up there in Ingwelala?
DeleteWhat a fantastic trip!! I hope you're having a wonderful time, and thank you for taking us along in photos - I hope you'll share more in the weeks to come!
ReplyDeleteYou can count on me for that, Susan. I already have enough pictures for six posts, and I haven't even gotten to the bush yet.
