I am recuperating from the health issues, but not fast enough to please me. Yesterday, when I ought to have been writing a blog, I took myself upstate for a very special event at my beloved Hudson Valley Shakespeare. I make no apologies for going AWOL. Here below is a re-post from three years ago, celebrating eary Autumn in NYC. Even though, for me, it is the wrong side of winter, it is beautiful.

Apple Bonus especially for Zoe
A happy ghost of an autumn goneby. Apple cider making in Garrison NY:
Beautiful pictures, as always, Annamaria. And what a lovely one at the end!
ReplyDeleteI thought you would like that picture, Zoe. Our cider making was all manual. David is turning the crank on chopper--no easy task. I am holding the crank on the crusher. The parents took turns at applying as much pressure as possible. The children stood at the spout with their cups and took the cider as soon as it started to run out. For city kids, who only knew apple juice from the supermarket, it was a joy and a revelation to drink it from the apples they had picked that morning.
DeleteThere seems to be a theme developing here...
ReplyDeleteIs it about apples, Michael? AA
DeleteBeautiful pictures. New York state is actually quite beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt is! Welcome back, Kathy D. It’s so nice to see you here again. AA
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. I hope you're feeling better!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ovidia. I am getting back to my real self. And a great but strage event is happening. Blogger did not sign me out. It is letting me comment as myself!. Do you suppose that the bot does that only to people who still have an appendix?
