Halloween in Greenwich Village

Annamaria on Monday

It will be here before the week is out.  The residents are ready!  Here is the evidence I saw this morning on my way to the bank.

One of the photos has an identifiable living creature in it.  Were you able to spot it?

A cafe on my my clock wishes you a Happy Halloween!
   AND SO DO I!

    1. We do take it seriiously, in a funny sort of way. Ovidia. It was originally the eve of the Christian holiday of All Saints (November 1). But it became, in the US, a fun day, especially for children. Getting dressed up in costumes and having parties and parades are part of it all over the US, and it is also beginning to catch on in other countries, like France and Italy! Carved pumpkins with candles, burning in them, will be on porches and in windows of homes all over the United States, and if if prior years are any indication, and along the Champs Elysee in Paris.

  2. Very impressive! I especially liked the skeletons breaking into an upstairs window. After crown jewels perhaps?
Actually I spotted living creatures in two of the pictures...

    1. Hi Michael, I now also see the people walking in the background of one photo. A reader said she saw a bird in a tree, but I can't find it.
I also like the skeleton trying to break into a window. hilarious. Lot's of them are funny, like the ones dress up like the local basketball team. They give new meaning to the term "funny bone!?
