Art is not....

On this day Edgar Degas was born in 1834.
Art is not what you see, but what you make others see, he said. So in lieu of words about his life here are some of his varied works.

    Cara, I love his pictures. I never saw the top one before. One of the things about them that knock me out, is the black. Lots of paintings have back in them, but Degas seems to paint it in some special way. It comes through as so chic and beautiful. Thanks for celebrating his birthday with us
