I'm a pantser and break into hives at the thought of preparing an outline for a work of fiction. It would kill the joy. But that's just for me. As is revealed in the Tim Hallinan edited "Making Story," there is no "right" way. There are strict outliners, total improvisers, and all gradations in between. The key is to make the magic happen in whatever way works for you--and the reader.Jeffrey Sigerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00718317707555064653noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1990338437877873686.post-10270862169226040492021-07-23T02:58:23.093-04:002021-07-23T02:58:23.093-04:00You're part of the solution, not part of the p...You're part of the solution, not part of the problem, because you recognize the problems and try to do the right things.
Right now, I am in recovery from reading "Eternal," by Lisa Scottoline, about the Italian Holocaust. I knew very little. Now I know a lot.
The horrors certainly come through. But so does the spirit of the anti-fascists and the partisans. And the goodness of those who hid Jewish people, so that 10,000 of the 12,000 Jews living in Rome, survive.
I think it's goind to take a lot to make changes in this country. The fight for voting rights is serious and must move ahead and be supported. Or, as is said, the situaiton will regress to states' rights and Jim Crow 2.0.
And women's rights are endangered. And wages are too low for many, and rents too high.
Activism is needed and allies. You are an ally and you have a pen, or rather, a computer. I hope one of those people smarter than me comes up with a great use for that mat of floating plastic in the Pacific that’s bigger than the state of Texas. That would be good news!Annamaria Alfierihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12311596277267789834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1990338437877873686.post-37762690416379407192021-07-19T16:19:31.482-04:002021-07-19T16:19:31.482-04:00All of what you say has a great deal of similarity...All of what you say has a great deal of similarity to The Truth as I see it, too. However, we can TRY to be part of the solution, but inevitably, we also end up being part of the problem. Such is life. :-) (But I know what you're getting at, and I agree whole-heartedly with the sentiment!)Everett Kaserhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12371555243187874414noreply@blogger.com
