In the second picture, the lava looks like a ribbon on black velvet. The part of the YouTube clip that I found most impressive is the fire on ice. Mauna Loa, in Hawaii, isn't nearly so impressive.<br /><br />When Mt. St. Helen's erupted in 1980 and I know there were long term effects, worldwide, from the ash that was blown everywhere. Has air traffic been restored?<br /><br />I look forward to more pictures of the eruption.<br /><br />At 2 to 3 centimeters a year, I don't expect to be around when Iceland bumps into Canada, presuming that it doesn't get snagged on Greenland first.bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17405199782450351160noreply@blogger.com
