My heart, lashed by the horrific events we witness with every news broadcast, focused on the delegates in the hall. They were the panoply of America. People of every color, age, shape, and I imagine religion. I loved seeing them in all their rainbow glory. I am frightened of the Trump phenomenon. I do not think that what happened in Weimar Germany "can't happen here." It can. We need to work for what we know is right. And to defeat what we know is wrong. I love that you write here about an event that took place only a few miles from where I am sitting at this moment. An event I had never heard of. I am going to hit the books and find out about it. Thank you for telling us about it and especially for this eloquent post about a critical question facing Americans today.
