Their god seemed to be Cormac McCarthy and I have been disturbed by that, although I am just as fascinated with the human tendency toward evil as anyone else. The effects of Stalin's five year program in the Ukraine make McCarthy look kind of soft. Western drama and fiction are based on conflict. Not so Indian drama: e.g Shakuntala by Kalidasa.
