It has been quiet about Murdoch's woes. Probably because when the cops raided another private detective recently, most of his dirty work had been done on behalf the Mail.Dan Waddellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04320741202757960766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1990338437877873686.post-46279831780101256272011-06-10T11:33:41.270-04:002011-06-10T11:33:41.270-04:00I think there is a circle of hell for people who d...I think there is a circle of hell for people who destroy the lives of others for financial gain or self-serving publicity. Once an allegation is made it is impossible to mount a believable denial. If someone is termed a "racist", it is impossible to prove other wise; the label places people beyond the pale, or at least, on the outer fringes of a society that pretends it is not racist.

The Boston Globe created an international crisis when it exposed the abuse of young boys by priests. Problem is that what is printed isn't always taken as written. The Roman Catholic church demands celibacy. If a man is willing to accept that restriction, he must be gay. If priests sexually abuse boys, or girls, they are pedophiles. If priests are gay and pedophile, then, ipso facto, all gays are pedophiles. The Globe should have done another series on the idiocy or its readers for willingly jumping into that trap.

The Mail-Online has an article about our home-grown pervert, Congressman Anthony Weiner. At least, he wasn't sending his photos to children (not directly). The Mail makes much of the fact that his wife is still wearing her wedding ring. She is preganant. Based on my experience, there is the possibility that her hands are swollen and she can't get the ring off. It has to be said that she did not stand by her man for the television cameras when he began his process of lying his way, unsuccessfully, out of the mess.

It also should be noted that most Democrats and Republicans polled see no reason for him to resign and would still vote for him. It has to be said for him that he has positioned himself so that he can't be blackmailed by nefarious parties who might threaten him with exposure.

BethAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1990338437877873686.post-58688717188670532992011-06-10T08:25:55.459-04:002011-06-10T08:25:55.459-04:00Perhaps a closing other than "cheers" wo...Perhaps a closing other than "cheers" would be more appropriate for this one, Dan. "Sadly" perhaps.

The reach of Murdoch's influence is inescapable (haven't seen that sort of quote in the Wall Street Journal recently), but Greece has its own home-grown hacker stories.

A few years ago a scandal ran across Greece that the mobile phones of its Prime Minister and other members of government had been compromised. The only palpable result was that the Prime Minister seemed to promptly lose interest in some matters of consequence.

When those who don't play by the rules win...

Biers,

JeffJeffrey Sigerhttp://www.jeffreysiger.comnoreply@blogger.com
