When I went to Potosi, I was stupefied by finding a 17th century Spanish city, with that fabulous Mestizo architecture, on what otherwise looked like a lunar landscape. I had to find out how it got there. That's the background history for CofS.<br /><br />BTW, though I have to skip Shetland Noir, I intend to be in Iceland in 2016. We visited Potosi in late 2007, even doing a silver mine tour, complete with dynamite, side-stepping working miners, and making underground alcohol offerings to the god of the underworld.
