A Poetic Update on My Life

Who among ye has not heard at least the opening line to Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s famous Sonnet 43?—“How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.”

Well, I’ve compromised her wondrous prose to announce (in my own way) a wondrous happening. Read on dear friends, read on.

 
How do I love BZ? Let me ask Waze.
I love she to beyond the left and right
My Soul can reach, when driving out of fright
Toward the ends of road and some unmarked place.
I love she to the measure of a way's
Most secret paths, by day and darkest night.
I love she surely, as who pass on right.
I love she madly, as lost in a maze.
I love she in a fashion out of use
That once clung to maps with a childhood's faith.
I love she with a love my beams did lose
in past wrong turns. I love she with the breadth,
Miles, gears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but love she better now betrothed.

  4. I think that Jeff either just got married to his car, or he's finally managed to acquire a soul. Either way, it's a good thing he's got Barbara to watch over him.
