The Secret Photographer of Mykonos Noir

Jeff—Saturday

Nick Savvides and I have been friends for as long as I can remember…which, adding up all the long nights we’ve seen sunsets turn into sunrises, is an admittedly questionable measurement of time.

However, only over the past few years have I realized the true breadth of Nick’s photographic talent. Yes, he does bright and sunny with the best of them, but also possesses a particularly keen eye for the darker side of things akin to what inspires noir mystery writing fans.

Perhaps that’s appropriate, considering all the dark news playing out across Greece these days, but whatever his inspiration, this is my selection of some of what I see as the noir essence of the old town Mykonos harbor captured by Desavvi—Nick’s professional name.

What emotions do they conjure up in you?

  1. "What emotions do they conjure up in you?"

Mostly something between loneliness and wistfulness. But beautiful shots!

  2. Thank you Jeffrey Siger...you have been a true friend for, yes, years and besides the huge talent you have in writing you have the talent of understanding people and that is why you are loved everywhere you go and especially on our little island Mykonos.
Thank you again...I am honored to be on your blog.

    2. Wrong! You asked what emotions they conjured up in the readers. I described my emotional reaction. THE DEFENSE RESTS!
